We got his potty chair at a garage sale- the idea grossed me out but I was being frugal-it is a Graco brand. I wasn't really thinking about design until after we got home and started to try it out. He really needed help getting his bits and pieces in the right spot so we put some shiny star stickers down into the pot and if he sits back far enough to see the stars then his aim will be dead on. I have seen some other ones that look less comfortable. The Baby Bjorn one looks good but has mixed reviews I think. I have some friends that have gone potty crazy and bought several of different designs just to see what their kid would prefer. I say work with what you've got!
