Ear Infection

This is Bright- feeling sick with an ear infection- first one ever- but looking cool in his dinosaur jammies!

Bright and momma hanging out. He looks less than thrilled to be held down for this picture.

So Bright has an ear infection and is on antibiotics. I am a little hesitant to give them to him after all you hear about whether or not they really help ear infections, etc. All I know is last night he finally slept for 6 hours straight again after way too many nights of not....

As someone who had their first ear infection at 2 weeks old and continued to have them throughout life...YAY for antibiotics!! I know that they are worrisome and I am allergic to just about all of them, but ear infections are the WORST pain and anything to make them go away is fantastic. In fact, it's the ONLY time I take antibiotics now. Trust me, he'll thank you later.

Yeeowch, what do we need ears for anyway? Shouldn't we replace them with transistor radios by now? It is the future...

Keep an eye out for thrush! Amanda just had her first ear infection (thanks daycare!) and developed thrush after three days on antibiotics.

Fortunately it's not bothering either of us... her pediatrician just suggested feeding her yogurt and letting it resolve itself.

I'm happy to let the gentian violet sit on the shelf. Otherwise Amanda the goth baby proudly displays her purple tongue to strangers, forcing me to mutter an explanation.
